LOGLINE:
Mia is a feature film about a young female android, who escapes a foster family and joins up with a group of young people on a roadtrip across Californian deserts. She wants to live her youth, explore her emotions and experience falling in love before the company who has built her finds and destroys her for being a danger to society.

Mia is a film combining a coming-of-age drama with a sci-fi thriller. It deals with the themes of freedom, finding connection, the nature of emotions and what it feels like to be an outsider. It is the feature film debut of two-time Emma (Finnish Grammy) nominated director Miro Laiho.

Miro is a producer, director and writer. He’s the CEO of production company Time Films, founded in 2012.
His newest titles are production manager in the Finnish theatrical feature film ”Swingers” and line producer in an upcoming TV series for broadcast television. He also has three TV series in early development as a showrunner. He has written, directed and produced dozens of commercials as well as music videos, from which two were Emma-nominated (Finnish Grammy). His music videos have been watched more than 30 million times, including the most watched video in Finland in 2015.
He has also directed six nominated short films in 2009 - 2017, from which two were awarded and one went viral on YouTube.
Mia is his directorial feature film debut.

Joni has shot dozens of music videos, commercials and short films as a DP. He has also shot episodic television as well as a feature film as a B camera operator.
Working also as a music video director, Joni’s strong artistic vision brings Mia’s story to life.
Tuomas Kantelinen
Composer
Tuomas is an established composer with dozens of feature film credits in Europe, Asia and Hollywood, including Mindhunters, Arn: The Knight Templar and Legend of Hercules.
He has won two Jussi-awards (Finnish oscar) for best music as well as three other music awards. He also has two Jussi nominations.
Tuomas’ background in classical music and live orchestra and his ability to compose in any given genre brings a huge asset to this production.
Resul Pookutty
Sound designer
Resul has won the Academy Award for Best Sound Mixing for Slumdog Millionaire in 2008. He has also worked on The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel (2011) as well as in dozens of Bollywood films.
Alexander Patouchas
Executive producer
Alexander has worked in various roles in marketing and content production in the mobile game industry.
He’s also behind the beard brand (S)PARTA and co-owner of the family company El Greco. The philosophical world citizen, who is also called ”Greek Jesus” helps with the themes of the film as well as funding.
Jesse Fryckman

Jesse has produced films to Solar Films, one of the biggest film production companies in Finland, partly owned by the distribution company Nordisk Film.
He has produced some of the biggest Finnish blockbuster films such as the country’s most watched film of 2015, Luokkakokous, which was also the second most watched film in Finland in 25 years, and the audience’s favorite in the Jussi gala (Finnish Oscars) as well as its sequel in 2016.
Jesse has also executive produced a 5-time Jussi (Finnish oscar) awarded film Puhdistus (Purge) as well as produced the Finnish adaptation of the hit series The Office.
